In the era of body fat .Do you still check your body weight ? OR Examine your BMI? BMI is body mass index which is calculated by weight/height in metre2 . . BMI or weight is no longer a good indicator to know your risk for different diseases. This is because various lifestyle disease risk is correlated to fat levels in the body which is generally deposited around the waist, & BMI or weight does not let us our fat levels. Know your body fat or waist to height ratio to check your risk for various lifestyle problems. Ideally waist :height ratio should be between 0.49 – 0.52 . The higher the ratio the higher the chances of getting diseases like diabetes, heart problems, PCOS etc. DM us your waist & height to know your risk.
