You may have heard by now about the buzz surrounding apple cider vinegar. It is also known as ACV. ACV is being promoted in the market since it has a lot of health benefits. Let’s know about this superfood in detail.
There are two types of vinegar available in the market
a) Synthetic; which is used for cooking purposes like salad dressing, marinades, chutneys, food preservatives, etc. and b) Medicated; “Mother” of vinegar, a cobweb-like amino acid-based substance found in unprocessed, unfiltered vinegar, indicates the best quality and can be used for therapeutic benefits.
Benefits of ACV:
- Lowers blood cholesterol levels.
- Management of blood glucose in diabetic and pre-diabetic population.
- Promotes weight loss*
- Relieves acidity*
*Though there are claims that ACV helps to lose weight and relieves acidity, there is no enough research data to back this up.
Recommended Dosage?
10 ml of ACV or 2 teaspoons or 1 capful twice in a day before main meals. Or once at bed time.
How to consume?
Very important to remember; dilute ACV in a glass of plain water each time you consume it.
